Accurate versus inaccurate negative information

Negative information on a credit report is not automatically inaccurate. Accurate, verifiable negative items generally can remain under applicable rules.

Helpful distinctions

  • Unfavorable but accurate — may still hurt, and is not automatically removable.
  • Possible inaccuracy — wrong balance, wrong status, mixed file, duplicate, or unfamiliar account that needs confirmation.
  • Incomplete or outdated fields — may deserve a closer look with documentation.

CredSide Engine™ is designed to highlight possible inconsistencies for review — not to declare every difference an error. You confirm the facts.
